AS WE GATHER- Welcome to our service of worship and praise for God’s abundant grace and mercy upon our congregation!  We gather in the Lord’s presence at His invitation, and in the company of the whole Church in heaven and on earth.  God continues to bless us with His precious gifts.  In response, we repent of our sins and offer up to Him our hearts and lives in praise and thanksgiving.  To this we say, “Amen!”

P:  Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write:  Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.”                   C:  “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”     (Revelation 14:13)

 Confession and Absolution- Pastor: Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hidden: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love You and worthily magnify Your holy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen    Pastor: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  All:  But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.                                               A Time of Silence to reflect on those sins weighing on our hearts.       All:  Most merciful God we confess that we are in bondage to sin and cannot free ourselves.  We have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone.  We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.  For the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us.  Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways, to the glory of Your holy name. Amen      Pastor:  Almighty God, in His mercy, has given His Son to die for you and, for His sake, forgives you all your sin. As a called and ordained servant of Christ, and by His authority, I announce the grace of God unto all of you and I forgive you of all your sins, in the name of the Father, and of the + Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Collect of the Day- In peace, let us pray to the Lord.  Lord, have mercy.   Heavenly Father you have promised through your Son to be with your church forever.  On this day of celebration, we give you thanks for those who founded this community of believers so many years ago.  We praise You for Your presence in this place of worship and ask Your ongoing blessing upon those who gather here.  Dwell continually among us with Your holy Word and Sacraments, strengthen our fellowship in the bonds of love and peace, and increase our faithful witness to Your salvation; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.  Allow us and all Your children to live by faith.  Help, save, comfort, and defend us, gracious Lord.  Amen.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

 Apostles’ Creed- I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.  And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Service of the Sacrament

 Preface   2 Timothy 4:22   The Lord be with you.  And also with you.  Lift up your hearts.  We lift them to the Lord.  Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.  It is right to give Him thanks and praise.

Prayer of Thanksgiving-  Blessed are You, Lord of heaven and earth, with repentant joy we receive the salvation accomplished for us by the all-availing sacrifice of His body and His blood on the cross.  Gathered in the name and the remembrance of Jesus, we beg You, O Lord, to forgive, renew, and strengthen us with Your Word and Spirit. Grant us faithfully to eat His body and drink His blood as He bids us do in His own testament. Gather us together, we pray, from the ends of the earth to celebrate with all the faithful the marriage feast of the Lamb in His kingdom, which has no end.  Graciously receive our prayers; deliver and preserve us. To You alone, O Father, be all glory, honor, and worship, with the Son and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.   Amen.
